For the laboratory environment the type of UPS required is an on-line double conversion UPS with automatic Bybass. We have a number of brands available that will meet this standard. The top of the line is the Toshiba. The most cost effective is the POWERWARE. The POWERWARE. product provides an ideal solution and meets these standards. The POWERWARE UPS filters out line spikes and provides a constant voltage at all times. In the event of a power failure you can expect 5-15 minutes of uninterrupted run time, depending on load. This is enough time to shut down your instrumentation so that you do not get possible startup problems also this will enhance the lifetime of the instrumentations electronics. If you have a generator the instruments will continue to work with out interruption, protected from problems caused by generator startup and shutdown.
